And they’re off!

Well, despite not even mentioning it to you guys, I’ve already got a backlog of two donations from the Donation Derby I set up. I figured nobody would pick up on it yet, but you’re all too sharp for me.
So, Kate and Alyce, hopefully I’m going to find the time to blow through at least some of your hard-earned cash this weekend.
My only caveats are no organ meats (gross) and no Indian food (possibly allergic)1 but otherwise, suggestions? Requests? Dares?
- Dude. The last time I ate Indian food, my face went all flushed and tingly and I briefly entertained the notion of passing out on the ladies room floor — too bad because the food was really quite good. [↩]

You know, I still don’t really know what that is and/or how to eat it.
On a similar note, I did see Japanese turnips today that were so cute, I almost forgot I hate turnips. Damn you Japan and your kawaii powers.

If you can get your hands on The Victory Garden Cookbook, by Marian Morash, there is an entire section on kohlrabi, and we make (because we get kohlrabi through the CSA and I actually, in another lifetime, grew them) a swedish meatball-and-kohlrabi dish that is very very good indeed.
