What I’ve been doing for the past week:
By Kristen | December 27, 2007
Making food — the best chocolate chip cookies ever, French toast with raspberry sauce, my grandmother’s meat sauce, a lasagna so good I almost cried, roasted vegetable stock — all of which entailed a lot of standing around thusly:

When I wasn’t doing that, I was wrapping gifts, hiding gifts, forgetting where I hid said gifts, opening gifts, and enjoying said gifts.
I also started making myself a scarf:

More details later.

LOOK AT YOUR CABLES!
Oh my god. I have so lost the knitting mojo, even though I’m working on a blanket right now. Those cables! Divine!
My culinary attempts included sour cream whipped potatoes, a perfect roast chicken, and lovely little whole wheat/cream cheese dough jam-filled crescenty things. Yum.
Happy New Year!

This scarf (pattern = Irish Hiking Scarf) is insanely easy. I’ve made one before, and it’s easy enough to watch TV while you do it. Have you signed up with Ravelry.com? It’s like knitting Facebook. I kind of love it. Well, this week anyway.

Chocolate chip cookie recipe, plz?
I’ve finished 3 neckwarmers, made 2 different iterations of chicken soup (the best one was kale/brown rice that Henry willingly ate) and enough chicken enchiladas and refried beans for 2 families, chocolate-dipped sugar cookies AND choclate chip cookies, and have started knitting dish cloths. I should be studying for the GRE but: fuck it.

GRE! You have made no such mention of this. I would like to know more.
I’m about to post about the cookies in a minute.

Every year I check out the GRE study guide and every year I return it overdue and unread. I want to go to library school but…I haven’t been in school or employed for 7 years. I’m skeeered.
